Bernice has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry, covering both life insurance and fund management sectors. In most part of her career Bernice was attached to international fund houses, where she had served in different departments such as Investment, Marketing, Sales, and Product Strategy & Management. These cross-functional experiences have enabled her to have a more all-round perspective on issues, resulting in effective resolution to the issues at hand.
Her investment and market knowledge, and practical skills in important areas such as communication, stakeholders management, project management, process improvement, organisational management, building cross-functional collaborative relationships at all levels, coaching, among others, have contributed significantly to the delivery of targeted results.
Bernice graduated with a Bachelor of Business Degree from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia.
Sho Toh YJ
Mr Sho Toh graduated from the University of London with a bachelor of science majoring in accounting and finance and has over 15 years of experience in the investment industry. Trained as global macro analyst at BH Global Advisers, he has been involved in extensive top-down research on major economies, financial markets and global events since 2004. Global macro is a distinctive discipline in the investment industry focusing on macroeconomics and geopolitical research and utilizing assets such as equities, fixed income, currencies, commodities and derivatives for strategy executions. He obtained Securities Commission’s capital market services representative license in investment advice in 2008.
Since the early years with BH Global Advisers, he has been given the opportunity to assist in analyzing alternative investment strategies, identifying opportunities and to make recommendations to enhance clients’ risk adjusted returns. He conducts in-depth country, sector, asset class and investment product level analysis and from there help to formulate a diverse range of investment strategies and advisory services tailored for investors.
With multiple years of experience in global macro research, he was responsible for the development of the company’s investment methodology and the current global equity portfolios widely used in the industry. Aspirational to share the robust and propriety research outcomes to fellow capital market practitioners, BH Global Advisers are currently serving as the outsourced investment office for Bill Morrisons, a leader in wealth management in the financial services industry, since January 2016.
An active public speaker in the investment industry and writer for the local financial journalism. Currently participating in the development of several investment strategies for a robo adviser platform, a joint venture between BH Global Advisers and a foreign fund management company. He helps to oversee assets under BH Global Advisers’ advisory mandate, serving a diverse range of clients such as high net worth, financial planners, brokers and fund manager.
Jeff Toh is a Remisier with TA Securities Holding and is based in Kuala Lumpur. He is also a Chartered Market Technician and uses his knowledge to trade on the World market. He graduated from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand in 1986 with a Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering with majors in Communications, Control Systems and Expert Systems. He spent about 27 years in telecommunications/broadcast engineering and engineering management with multinational corporations.
He continues to use his engineering knowledge in the developing algorithmic trading system incorporating Artificial Intelligence and Technical Analysis.. He is a co-chairman of the Malaysian chapter of the Chartered Market Technician Association.
Over the years, he has developed and fine tuned his trading systems both manual and algorithmic. His 5-star Trading System is based on Trend, Momentum, Cycles, Fractals and Multi-Time Frame. He has also developed algorithmic trading system based on Intermarket Analysis. He continues to develop and back test algorithmic trading systems that are robust and have undergone extensive back testing and Monte Carlo analysis. He has been an investor since 1989.
Alex is a licensed Capital Market Service Representative, holds a Master in Information Technology in Business from Lincoln University, United Kingdom. Prior to that, he obtained his Bachelor of Commerce (double major in Accounting and Marketing) from Deakin University, Australia.
Starting his career at PwC, he pursued the path of a Derivative analyst over the course of 10 years since graduation. Alex has extensive experience in Equity and Derivative investment, audit, corporate finance and Private Equity Funding.
Alex has served as a fund manager for VCB Capital, a boutique asset management company for more than 5 years. Combining his knowledge of fundamental market analysis, quantitative research methodologies, finance, equity markets, derivative markets and programming skills, he has played a key role in VCB Capital in the areas of investment research, strategies formulation, development of investment framework, identification of new potential markets for investment, as well as Capital Risk Monitoring using cutting edge technological tools.
Over the course of his career, Alex has developed his own proprietary software in automated industrial analysis of Derivative and Equity markets, Derivatives hedging and investment by utilizing his IT skills combined with his knowledge in Derivatives markets. His technical analysis skills are recognized by world class Technical Analysis association MTA (Market Technician Association) of United States. He has previously served as the first Chairman for MTA Malaysian Chapter.
Alex has also consulted various overseas hedge fund companies during his career as fund manager. He has been stationed in Singapore for 5 years, and subsequently stationed in China for more than 1 year to provide his consultation services. His exposure in overseas markets including Singapore and China enables him to see the investment industry from an integrated perspective.
Alex has held part time lecturing position in various colleges for more than 10 years. He has lectured in the field of applied computerized statistics, deploying Quantitative Models generated from statistical software like Matlab, Eviews, Revolution R Analytics and IBM SPSS software packages. He is well versed with different approaches towards investment and risk management including Fundamental Analysis, Technical Analysis, Sentimental Analysis and Quantitative Analysis methodologies.
He has also authored an e-book in Capital Market trading and investment and is still continuing his passion in conducting research and development in the related capital market area in collaboration with academicians from various local and international universities.
Tang Qun Feng
Qun Feng is a Quantitative and Algorithmic Trading Systems Developer at TradingEdge Technology. He graduated from the University of Nottingham, UK with a degree in BSc (Hons) Financial Mathematics. He provides customers with algorithmic trading solutions in a variety of programming languages such as R, Python, C#, MQL4, and MATLAB. He currently automates trading strategies for MT4 users. He also performs research in the implementation of artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, quantitative models and genetic algorithm into trading systems. In his live trading systems, he employs cutting-edge technologies including LSTM neural networks, ARIMA, KNN, and SVM models.
